The cardboard packaging of ‘Dixan Tabs’ washing tablets has become much lighter. The 64 tablets are now contained in a 118 gram cardboard box instead of a 144 gram box. This represents a cardboard saving of 18%.
The shape of the box has also changed. The new octagonal shape is more robust than the old rectangular shape. In addition, the tablets are wrapped two by two in a bag that only weighs 0,60 grams. They used to be wrapped in individual plastic bags weighing 0,77 grams. That’s 61% less packaging weight per tablet. This weight reduction was made possible by switching to another polymer for the plastic bag. The combined cardboard and plastic reduction results in a weight saving of 29% per packaging.
