Bosch has reduced the quantity of plastic film required for its drill packaging by 36%. The company’s new PET tight pack for 12 mm drills contains only 2,3 grams of PET film. The old packaging contained 3,6 grams of PE film.
PET film is harder, making it unnecessary to use cardboard to support the packaging. The cardboard is used to provide information instead. The new film is also more transparent, which means the customer can see the product better. In addition, the drill is not entirely covered by film anymore, so consumers can actually touch the product. In terms of production, the main benefit of this packaging is its flexibility. It enables Bosch to switch more easily from one product to another.
