ANL-Plastics manufactures plastic packaging for the food industry. It has reduced the panel thickness of its packaging for cakes by more than 50%. The company managed this by adopting a new technique that packages products in a vacuum-tight protective environment. The thickness of the PET packaging has now been reduced to 300 µm from 800 µm.
ANL-Plastics switched to this new technique to achieve a better product presentation and a longer shelf life of the products. The company also wanted to produce more resistant packaging that required fewer materials.
